8-12 Science
The goal of the Science Department at Billerica Memorial High School is to promote and engage all students in the Science and Engineering practices through hands-on and practical applications. We strive to help students develop the knowledge and skills needed to be scientifically literate citizens, and to prepare students for advanced course work in scientific fields to prepare for the rigors of post-secondary academics and professional careers.
All students are required to take a minimum of 3 years of science at BMHS after 8th grade. The recommended progression of core science courses is Biology, Chemistry, Physics from freshman to junior year.

Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is the leading provider of rigorous and innovative STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education curricular programs used in schools. PLTW exists to prepare students for the global economy through its world-class curriculum and an engaged network of educators and students.
