Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)

Our district uses a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to ensure that every student receives the instruction and support they need to succeed.

MTSS is a framework that helps schools provide high-quality instruction for all students while also offering additional support when needed. It is designed to address both academic and social-emotional development.

In an MTSS model:

  • All students receive strong, research-based core instruction in the classroom.
  • Some students may receive targeted support in small groups to build specific skills.
  • A smaller number of students may receive intensive, individualized support based on their unique needs.

Teachers regularly review student progress and work collaboratively to make decisions about the level of support each student may need. This approach allows us to respond early and effectively, helping students grow and succeed.

Families are important partners in this process. We encourage open communication and collaboration to support each child’s learning and well-being.
