Title I

Title I is a federally funded program designed to support schools in helping all students meet high academic standards.

In our district, Title I provides additional resources to strengthen teaching and learning, particularly in the area of literacy. These resources may include additional instructional support, professional development for teachers, and materials to enhance classroom instruction.

Our Title I program focuses on:

Providing high-quality instruction for all students
Offering additional support to students who may need it
Supporting teachers through training and resources
Building strong family and school partnerships

Family engagement is an important part of Title I. We value collaboration with families and offer opportunities for parents and caregivers to learn more about curriculum, instruction, and ways to support learning at home.

We are committed to working together to ensure every student has access to the support they need to thrive.

Family Rights and Resources (Title I)

Families play an essential role in supporting student success, and Title I ensures that parents and caregivers have important rights and opportunities to be involved in their child’s education.

Family Rights Under Title I

As a parent or caregiver in a Title I school, you have the right to:

  • Be informed if your child’s school is identified for Title I services and how those services support student learning
  • Request information about your child’s teacher’s professional qualifications
  • Receive regular updates on your child’s academic progress
  • Be notified if your child is receiving additional support or intervention
  • Participate in school meetings and events related to curriculum, instruction, and family engagement
  • Provide input and feedback on school and district Title I plans and family engagement activities

Family Engagement Opportunities

Our schools are committed to building strong partnerships with families. Opportunities may include:

  • Curriculum or literacy nights
  • Family workshops and information sessions
  • Opportunities to provide feedback through surveys or meetings
  • Regular communication from teachers and school staff

We encourage all families to take part in these opportunities and to stay connected with their child’s school.
